Lions, Tigers and Bears...Oh My!!

When we started planning his trip we both agreed San Diego was a must, little did we know we'd end up out there two days in a row...

Wednesday we headed out towards San Diego around 1o:45. On the way he wanted to stop at Sombreros Mexican Food for lunch. His reason: Blink 182 used to eat there and mentioned it in a few of their songs. I didn't mind, I am always down for some good Mexican food. While eating I happened to catch part of the Ghana and Germany game.
After lunch we headed to the San Diego Zoo! Grant mostly wanted to see the pandas, he thought it would be cool to give them a hug...my opinion on the matter, probably not a good idea if he didn't want to be eaten alive. I mostly wanted to see the monkeys and the tigers and the zebras, and the polar bears and the koala bears...okay so I wanted to see all the animals. They were just so cute!
The zoo pretty much took the whole day and by the time we were ready to leave we were both hungry so we headed into Balboa Park for dinner. Best darn Cesar Salad I've ever had!
After dinner we walked around taking pictures even sat down and listened to some music in the park.
It was about 8 when we head toward home and thought it would be fun to end our night with a couple rounds of bowling...he totally kicked my butt. He was lucky though I was off my game a little...
He was hungry when we left and lucky for him there was an In-n-Out across the way.
Got home about midnight once again and it was time for bed!
Thursday; day number 2 of San Diego, we headed out about 10. This time we went to the San Diego's Wild Animal Park. I liked this park a lot more because I felt the animals had more room and freedom to move about. I felt they were more at "home." He and I don't really like to see animals in captivity, part of the reason we didn't go to Sea World.
While there we went on a safari through Africa. We covered the North, South and everything in between all in about 30 minutes. It was nice to see these animals in some what of their natural habitat.
Our tour guide was funny too...cheesey, but I liked him up until he started to give a speech on living out our dreams. That was kind of weird, but all in all our first trip to Africa was great!!
We ate lunch after that. We ended the afternoon with the lions.
Left the park and ended up back at Balboa Park.
We headed home early only because Disneyland with the familia was the next day...
It was a great day 2 days in San Diego!!

Thanks for reading!!
