As We Move on, We Take the Past With Us...
I remember the day as if it happened yesterday.
I was standing in my best friends living room when it first hit T.V. as
breaking news. All I heard was 'A plane just went into the south tower...and a
second one into the north' All I could think was 'What the heck is happening??
What are the twin towers, why are they so important, and who is causing this to
happen?' I had just started the sixth grade so we hadn't quite gotten to that
lesson in our history books yet. All I could see were two burning buildings and
still no answers. I can't remember much past that, but I knew it was a sad
day.
11 years later...
Even though it has been 11 years since this tragedy hit our nation I believe that our nation has become a better people. Despite arguably one of the worst things that could have happened to us in history, many positive things have come out of this. We have learned to overcome the worst and strive to be better. We have learned to work together and lean on each other. Most of all we have learned to love life. We are lucky to still have our lives, our health, family, and friends. We must remember not to take for granted the 3,000 lives lost as a sacrifice for us. In a world where tragedy as become the norm and all we see on our T.V. screens, this day reminds us how precious life really is. Most of all we are lucky to have each other.

To my family and friends: Without all the love and support from you I could not and would not be the person I am today. For all the good times and memories we've shared together and for many more to come!! I thank you from the bottom of my heart and love you all very much!! Without you, my life would not be complete!!
So as this 11th year comes to a close I must ask that we pray for those lives lost and those families affected. Pray for our country. Finally I ask that we pray and thank the LORD for all that we have and for each other.
