A Little Adventure within a Big Adventure!!

Hello everyone! Here's what I have been up to this past week...if you have been on my facebook or instagram at all this week you would have seen some pretty amazing events happening...here is a full explanation of how all these exciting events went down!! Last Sunday Grant told me we were going on a secret road trip to an unknown destination. All he told me was it was a 6 hour drive...now I am not a geography major so in my mind 6 hours is a long time and we could have been going ANYWHERE!!
How exciting!! We left around 11 and took the scenic route and arrived in our surprise destination
around 6ish...anyone know where we ended up??
That's right we went to St. Louis, Missouri!

By the time we got into town we were starving and pizza was the first thing I could think of to eat! You'd think that our night would be over after that...who are you kidding I was with turbo! We ended our night with a quick round of mini golf...I was winning until the end.

Tuesday we woke up went to the St. Louis Zoo!
It was so much fun!! All the animals were so cute!!

After the zoo we went to a little hole in the wall burger place and for dessert we went out for custard! I don't really like custard so I didn't have any, but I did taste it and it was okay. This place is known for making really thick custard, so thick that you can tip the custard upside down and it won't spill out!! Of course it's me so I had to test it out and go figure it is true! :)
We ended our night with a few rounds a bowling. We went to this really cute pin-up style bowling alley/bar. I won the first round, but of course he kicked my butt in the end!

Wednesday we started our day with some delicious famous St. Louis BBQ at a place called Pappy's. Grant was kind enough to take me to get my nails done, pick the beautiful color and most importantly pay for them to be done! :) Isn't he the greatest!?! After I was done with my nails we went to a Frank Lloyd house. All I know about the guy is that he is a famous architect and designs houses. This house was beautiful and very unique.
Grant has a way with surprises and he sure knows what I would enjoy the next stop on our Wednesday adventure was the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. To say it was gorgeous would be an understatement! The pictures we took can't even begin to capture how beautiful this cathedral was!! The last stop and perfect way to end our day was with a romantic boat ride in a lake.

We are now on day 4 of our road trip. I'm not quite sure this is everything we did on Thursday, but these are the major things that we did. One of our first stops was at an other church called the Shrine of St. Joseph. It was a lovely little church. It was under renovation to restore part of the church.
Our next stop was a farmers market because we were supposed to have a picnic, but sometimes things don't happen the way you plan them.
This wasn't our last stop, but it is one of the last things we did. We went to the Gateway Arch of St. Louis. The ride up and down was a little nerve racking. It was a tiny elevator. The entrance to the elevator was about my height (which isn't saying a lot) and this size of this thing was probably a little bit bigger than the inside of your shower. If you think that part was bad being at the top was just a little bit worse. I had a hard time with how high it was. But it was amazing and fun. I am glad I had the chance to go all the way up!

Saturday is 6th day of our road trip. I was really craving waffles so our first stop was a little breakfast place called Melt. It was so good!
The next stop was a little side trip to Illinois where we went to the Cahokia Mounds. It was so interesting! I've learned about them before in a history class, but to actually see them in person and have someone walks through the history of them was pretty cool!
Our next stop before we left IL was a little church that was built in the 1700. It was a small little church, but it was filled with so much history.

When we got back into St. Louis we were starving so we finally went on our picnic. It was very romantic and we even fed some ducks and geese!
After our picnic we went to a dessert place that only served chocolate boy was it delicious!!
The last thing we did on Saturday was go to the City Museum! Both our phones where either dead or dying so we were not able to get too great of pictures. I could not even begin to explain what this place was in a way that you would understand all I can say is that it was 4 floors of a giant jungle gym for adults and the roof which was 11 stories high had a Ferris wheel, a bus and two planes hanging over the edge. The best part you were able to either climb or walk through them! It was beyond crazy!

Sunday was our last day in St. Louis and what a better way to end our vacation then with a 11am mass at the Basilica.

After mass we started on our journey back to Little Rock. On the way home we stopped at a little BBQ joint called Lambert's Cafe, it is the home of roll throwing...yes they actually throw bread rolls around! It was fun even I got into it!!

To end our trip it pretty much ended the way it began...I slept...lol my poor Grant!
Anyway it has been great sharing our trip to the wonderful St. Louis!! Stay tune for the fun things I will do on my last week with Grant, my cousin Monique and my Godson Nixon!!
