The First of Many

It is that time again...update time!

School: I am glad to report I have finally (as of Tuesday Dec. 11) finished my first semester at CSUN!! This semester has been a blast! I have really learned a lot about myself! My finals went great; however, I am still waiting for my grades to be posted...I have been checking my portal for the last 4 days!! As you can see I am very anxious to see how I did! As for next semester I have a FULL(4 COMS classes=15 units) load, but thankfully I will only be on campus 3 days out of the week. I honestly can't wait for next semester! As always I will keep you updated on my progress!

Work: As of December 1st I have been at my job for 2 months, but it feels like I have been there longer. It didn't take long for me to fit in with my co-workers mostly because we are in constant communication throughout the day! I'm finally starting to feel like I have my own classroom again! My co-teacher and I are really starting to become a solid team, we really do work well together! I love that she is  giving me more freedom in our classroom as far as activities for our kids and how the class run on a daily bases. I have a lot more responsibility now and I am really happy here. Speaking of more responsibility I am happy to report I got a "promotion" at lease that's what my director calls it! I am the Safety Captain! Basically my job is to make sure we do not have any workers comp issues. I walk around from classroom to classroom making sure all of the teachers are using proper safety procedures. This means making sure they are lifting things/children properly, making sure all walk ways are clear from toys to avoid trips, making sure all messes are cleaned up to avoid slips; ect.  I also have to log everything I see and who is/isn't following safety procedure everyday along with a graph. I am also in charge of my co-workers safety cards to make sure they are stretching everyday (I have to sign off on their card.) Needless to say it is a big job and it takes a lot of effort, but I excited to take on this new challenge!

Church: I have some great news! I finally became a Eucharistic Minister! I has taken me a long time to get to this point, but it all happened in God's time! I just had to leave it in his hands. Last Sunday was the first time participated in the mass, I served the blood....boy was I a nervous wreck! I was so afraid I was going to trip or spill something. I did make some minor mistakes, but I will get better the more I do it. I am just happy I was able to be up there. I felt very blessed to have been able to take part in the mass in a different way.

Since my move I have learned a lot about myself and my capabilities. I have pushed myself to become a better person and to take on more challenges. With that I become even more independent and confident. I am grateful for the experiences I have has so far and I am looking forward to the rest of my journey. I can't wait to see what lies ahead with school,  my job and my faith.

Until next time!
Sammie ♥
