Who is God?
If you know me well, you know I love to read and I almost always have a book in hand, but lately my hands have been empty, waiting for the perfect book to catch my attention.
Thanks to my dear friend Carla I have found the right one.
The Shack.
I just started the book and so far it has me thinking and definitely has my attention.
The part of this book that interests me most is when the main character meets God as a black woman. Trying to understand, 'Papa' (the name they have given God in the book) explains, because he viewed God as a tall, built, white male, God is appearing as a short black woman.
As I was reading this I began to think about how I view God and how he would appear to me...
I believe God to be strong, tall, long hair, beard, white, dressed in a long white robe, and a male. I probably think of him in this way because this is what I have been taught my whole life. But then I wonder about the other religions and how they view God to be.
If God is universal, then why must we classify him to be something so specific? Why not let him be anything and everything?
